Round Table Frauen in Technik

Gender bias and stereotypes are pervasive issues that limit opportunities and perpetuate inequality in various spheres of life for both women and men. These biases often lead to discriminatory practices and societal expectations that dictate roles based on gender.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) contributes to global peace and security, human rights and sustainable development by making the world safer from drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism by working for and with Member States and plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges. UNODC recognizes the importance of integrating gender aspects in its efforts to strengthen crime prevention, enhance justice, address organized crime, ensure a balanced response to drugs, improve the rule of law and bolster resilience.

As part of the UN Women Austria Round Table, Helin Herlbauer will look at gender bias and stereotypes to explore how these can influence our daily decisions and contribute to discrimination. She will also present strategies for understanding the root causes and addressing and mitigating these issues.
